Tournament Rules

• Game-rules and penalties follow USA Hockey regulations and procedures unless otherwise stated in the following rules.
• Three periods of 17-minute run-time with a 3-minute warm-up and 1-minute breaks between periods.
• If there is a 2-or-less goal differential, then the final 3-minutes of the third period will be played in stop-time.
• All players are limited to 3 goals per game.
• Games end when the clock terminates, regardless of the score *
• Points awarded for team-ranking: 2 points for a win, 1 point for a tie.
• Tie-breakers for teams with equal points are determined by: Most points, most wins, head-to-head, goals agains, goals scored, penalty minutes.
• * SUNDAY EXCEPTION: If the game is tied at the end of regulation, a 3-minute period of 3-on-3 is played followed by a 3-player shootout if the game is still tied.
• Slapshots or fake slapshots taken with a backswing above the normal height of a player's waist will result in a faceoff in the team's defensive zone
• Player penalty rules:
  1. Minors: three minute penalty
  2. Double Minor: six minute penalty
  3. Fighting: major + ejection
  4. Abuse of Officials: minor, 10 minute misconduct, game misconduct
  5. Game Ejection: four minors any combination
  6. Major Penalty: automatic ejection from game with possible league suspension after review by the league commissioner and dicipline committee.
